Jessica Worthington has dedicated 17 years to the Avondale School District and brings to her role an expertise that helped her previous school receive an “A” rating from the state. She has served as a teacher, master teacher, and assistant principal. 

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Concordia College and a masters degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University.

Ryan Vaughn has dedicated over 16 years to the Avondale Elementary School District.  In that time, he has served as a middle school social studies teacher, master teacher, and dean of students.  Mr. Vaughn has a degree in Social Studies Education, as well as Masters degrees in Curriculum and Instruction and Teaching English to Students of Other Languages.  Mr. Vaughn is extremely excited to be the Assistant Principal at Desert Star and is looking forward to seeing all of Desert Star's scorpions grow.
